This collection of ephemera contains programs, brochures, souvenir programs, posters, press releases and clippings covering festivals (such as agricultural festivals, music festivals, and cultural pride festivals) and pageant theatre (including historical and Biblical dramas) in the United States. Two pageants prominently featured are Paul Green's "The Lost Colony" performed in Roanoke, NC and "Texas: A musical romance of panhandle history" performed at the Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Canyon, TX.

Paul Eliot Green(1894-1981) was a Southern playwright, poet, and novelist. Born in Lillington, North Carolina, Green lived in the state all of his life and tried to capture in his writings the culture and heritage of the American South, concentrating on the experiences of tenant farmers, mill workers, Native Americans and African Americans.
